Emily and Garrett just came home from doing yoga. When they opened the doors of their car to get out, Buddy, a large Pitbull jumped inside. The couple panicked and was unsure of what to do next.
The couple was shocked that a Pitbull hopped into their car out of nowhere. They did not know whether to call animal control or not.
Emily tried to lure Buddy out of the car using roast beef. The dog wouldn’t budge. He just laid on the car seat.
The couple took their time to plan their next actions. They didn’t want to aggravate Buddy and wanted the dog to be as comfortable as possible.
They gave Buddy some water and started petting him. Emily and Garrett wanted the dog to feel safe so they could take him inside their house.
They finally got the dog outside of their car after two hours. They got him inside of their house, and Buddy immediately ran towards the couch and laid there.
The next day, they brought Buddy to a vet. The couple asked local shelters to see if anyone could identify Buddy’s owners.
Emily had secretly hoped that Buddy didn’t have any owners before. She had already loved having the dog around.
It wasn’t until a few days later that they found out Buddy didn’t belong to anyone. Emily was beyond excited.
Garret, on the other hand, was as thrilled as Emily was. He wasn’t thinking about getting a dog, then suddenly one just jumped into his life, literally. He grew to love the dog and was happy to have Buddy in his little family.
Three weeks later, when they were out walking Buddy, the dog saw a bird and chased it. The couple tried to run after him, but they lost him in the woods.
They put up posters everywhere and went to every shelter that was near to see if they had news about Buddy. Emily and Garrett were devastated, but they didn’t stop looking for their beloved dog.
A few days later, Emily received a call from Montgomery County shelter, saying that they think they have Buddy. They told Emily not to get her hopes up, but there was a high chance of it being their dog.
Emily immediately drove to the shelter, with high hopes of getting her dog back. It was a heartwarming reunion. Buddy recognized his mom, and Emily knew that was her dog because he had the same collar.
They went home the same day, and Garrett put a GPS tracker into Buddy’s collar to make sure he wouldn’t get lost again. The dog was finally back with his family, and they were as happy as they could be.
